Thinness is idolized and bring to misbehavior. Despite scandales, awareness campaign, famous women like Kate Moss still declare « there’s nothing better than feeling thin » and medias go on publishing images of thinness cult. Have you ever seen an underwear advertisement with women wearing less than a 34 ?

it is not the women who are emphasized, but the whole body, just a body.

Scientist post confirmed : medias and fashion have a negative impact on nutrition behaviors.

The presented model are already non representative of the majority, indeed this type of girth represent only 5% of the population.

These girls we can spot in magazines or podiums are not some you can meet on the streets. Indeed, in 2006, an average woman is 1m63 tall and weight 62 kg. Whereas a model is 1m80 and weights 50kg.

« There are 3 billions women who don’t look like supermodels and only 8 who do. »

Nowadays , terms like anorexia, pro-ana, boulimia comes and goes more and more frequently. These physical an mental disease reach more and more younger woman. Identification to stars, models, young girls only got this landmark, fashion, they reject their body, they reject food itself.

Thanks to technology and especially Photoshop, we can now do whatever we want with women bodies on magazine. These images can be manipulation tools very powerful. What is dangerous is when those preoccupation become obsessions; the goal being impossible to reach, since it doesn’t exist. This body they want doesn’t exist, and it is unhealthy, insane.

But recently, in January 2016, french government took a good decision. From beginning of 2017, images re-worked with photoshops or any images treatment software will have to mention it within the images, for all to see, and understand this is not a reflection of reality.

We really hope this decision will help the society standards to evolve and physical and mental disease related to the Tyranny of thinness will decrease significantly.
